If you haven't got the magazine here is a little peek showing my cards ...
This postcard themed project is actually a one layer card and I have just masked images to create the illusion of 3D layers.
I began by placing the dolphins and whales (from Oceania stamp set) and then I masked them off using sticky note masks. Next I created my postcards by drawing around large sticky notes and giving the edges a doddle feel.
Using the lace border in the "Absolute Vintage" set, I began creating my sea. I thought the stamp gave the illusion of movement/water. I have added more ink to the bottom of my card to give an illusion of sea and sky. Next began the fun part of adding all the little details to the bottom postcard using the smaller embellishment stamps from the Oceania stamp set.
On the top postcard, I used the postal elements from the "Wish you here" stamp set.
I used linen effect card as I wanted a textural feel to my project and thought that this would help give a mottled effect to the dolphins. All the images have been water coloured using distress inks. The sentiment is from the Oceania stamp set and is one of 5 found on the set.
Thoroughly enjoyed making my card and really wanted to challenge myself to making a one layer card as sometimes I can overdo the layers and embellies. Now need to remind myself more often, to create more of these style cards. All the links to the products used can be found at the bottom of this post.
