BOO ... it's Halloween !

Another late to the party moment as this is my DT card for The Pencil Case using one of the great Melonheadz images coloured with my Lyra Rembrandt Polychromo pencils ... which was due two weeks ago ... whoops! I can take photos on my phone and surf the net but combining the two, just doesn't work for me and to be honest, don't want to learn how to either.

The papers are all from the new Polka Doodles Halloween downloads and loving the skulls one as they can be used all year round ... I see pirates!

Colours used ...
Face: white, pink geranium and venetian red
Monster: apple green, moss green, night green, black, lemon and dark carmine
Extra highlights with white gel pen

Have you joined in with the "pencil revolution" yet? If not, check out the following pages:

Rushing here as need to add my card before Halloween is over. Give you a clue as to how late I am ... it''s dark and there are lots of little people in costumes out and about ... eek!

Dusted off the Craft Robo ... only had it for SIX YEARS!

Well life has a way of being a little bit of a pain at the moment especially with respect to the internet. Let's just say that we have had loads of problems and in order to sort things out, have refrained from using our router to gain access to the internet. We are now the proud owners of a shiny new, working, un-hacked router! Whilst I know loads of you out there use your phones for everything, I'm afraid I am not one of them tech savvy people and find surfing the net and blogging, just too damn hard on my phone. A definite eye rolling moment for my youngest son ...

With no internet I have had a wonderful time just making and making and making. I have managed to tick off loads of things from my "to do" list and one major one was to dust off the Craft Robo and finally me master it, rather than it master me! I know there are new machines out there but with the little use this machine has had over the last six years, I really can't justify buying an upto date version ... would love to but do not want another item gathering dust in a box!

So here is my first Craft Robo project in eons ...

I made a camera gsd file using my own camera as the model as wanted to "play" and produce something with basic shapes ... walk before you can run scenario ...! I cut the images out in silver and black so I could create layers. All the layers were over stamped with a snowflake and embossed with white detail powder.

The flowers were cut using a "normal" die from Tim Holtz and layered up. They are layered on to a snowflake die (from Tonic) and finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The Santa image in the centre of the camera is from Bo Bunny and I wanted to look as if Santa was the focus of the photo shoot. The "Believe" sentiment is also from Tonic.

So this is the silver camera but watch this space for the black camera .....

It might be because I have had a break from blogging but it has taken me ages to write this post and I don't know why ...? I'm having a "night in" and grabbing a humongous coffee and catching up with blogland as withdrawals have now well and truly kicked in!

Believe in Christmas ...

I have notebooks everywhere for different things as am a bit of a notebook nerd ... love a good notebook ... however I am also a memory stick junkie too! I though I had better go through them just to check what I had on them and try and find a way to sort through all the files, photos, crafting stuff etc and came across a set of photos for several Tonic Studio projects I had made for the Exquisite Stamp launch.

Here's one of the cards I made ...

I have used the Elegance stamp from the Tonic Studios Exquisite range, coloured with Nuvo Creative pens and embellished with Nuvo Crystal drops and glitter.

Skin: 473, 475 and 449
Dress: 379, 381 and 489

I used one of the garden header dies to create my floral border, colouring them to look similar to poinsettias.

Leave & vines: 415 and 417
Flowers: 379 and 381

I adore the "believe" sentiment from the "Believe/Love topper"die set and thought it suited this image brilliantly. It has been layered on to black card with a lickle gold heart.

I layered the beautiful lady on to layers of ribbon and lace, finished with a sentiment strip. A few extra hearts finished off the card and a matted "noel" sentiment.

A quick(ish) card to make and want to try this design again but maybe in blue ... another thing to add to my crafting "to do" list.

Well the new week has started and I am busy, busy, busy today. Already tired just thinking about it ...! Have a wonderful Monday everyone,

Lou

Case made ... just needs packing!

I decided to alter a paper mache case for my DT project at Love to Create Challenges and surprised myself as to how the idea in my head, slowly appeared in front of me.

This is what it looked like to begin with ...

and after "faffing", this is what it looks like now ...

I began by carefully pulling off the luggage straps and handle as I didn't think they looked that good ... plus wasn't sure how I would decorate them! I created my own straps, fastening and handle which suited the case a little better (I believe).

Using some House of Zandra papers, I have covered the case and over stamped the papers with the butterfly stamp from PAB using versamark. With the fine white pearlescent pan pastel, I dusted these images. All the edges were aged using raw umber and bronze metallic pan pastel.

Whilst raiding my sticker drawer, I came across a selection of 7 Gypsies stickers which were just perfect for this project. They have been added everywhere but first they were lightly coloured with bronze metallic pan pastel.

Next came the real faffing bit ... what embellishments to use and I must admit, I sat there a wee while trying this or that on the case. In the end, I just went for it as was starting to get frustrated with my own indecision.  All the flowers have been tinted with bronze metallic pan pastel and glitter highlights added with the GraphIt Shake pens.

Now for the inside ........ well you'll have to tune in next week to see what I did ....!

Right I'm off to get my bits ready for "Art and Craft Club" as the children are going to try a bit of zentangling.

Creepy autumn colours ...

A definite OMG moment here as I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted and then suddenly I post today and yesterday. Life has a habit of getting in the way every now and then ... !

One of the things I am very late for is my DT project for The Pencil Case. For this challenge we are sponsored by Star Stampz and I have used "Wicked Elphaba and Glinda" image ...

I have coloured the image with my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils and just added a little glaze to the bubbles and white GraphIt shake pen highlights as my extras.

Elphaba  - Skin: White, Venetian Red and Burnt Ochre
Hair: Dark Carmine, Indian Red
Dress: black, dark sepia
Hat and cape: Black, Medium Grey, Night Green and Ochre
Legs: Night Green and Indian Red

Glinda - Skin: White, Venetian Red and Burnt Ochre
Hair: Dark Sepia, Raw Umber and white gel pen
Dress: Light Orange, Dark Orange and lemon Cadmium

The background papers are from the new Polka Doodles Halloween paper bundle (digi download) and am in 'lurve' with the skulls banner which is in the Polka Doodles "Spooky" bundle ... pppsssstttttt .... can see that being used all year on boys cards.

Right better get a move on as have loads more to catch up on and want to spend my afternoon with a HUGE coffee doing lots of blog mooching.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Lou
